(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/20/11 -- Romex Mining Corporation ("Romex" or "the Company") is a private Ontario corporation involved in the gold exploration and mine development business in Ghana, West Africa. The Company was formed by an experienced exploration and mining group with over 25 years experience in West Africa, particularly Ghana. The principals of the company include, Stephen G. Roman, George A. Flach, P.Geo, Dr. Robert J. Griffis, Ph.D., and A. Thomas Griffis.
In October 2010, Romex signed an agreement to acquire the Aburi Property, encompassing an area of 52.63 km2, located on the Asankrangwa gold belt, due south of Keegan Resources and PMI Gold's, Esaase and Obotan deposits respectively.
The Aburi property hosts a, non NI 43-101 compliant, gold resource of 1,344,000 ounces known as the Mpeasem deposit.
Over the last twelve months Romex has completed the following work as part of its overall exploration strategy in the region:
