He will follow BårdMikkelsen who will step down in accordance with his contractualagreement. The new President and CEO comes from the position as CEOof Norske Skog and will take up his new position on 1 June."It was important for the board to find a new CEO with extensiveknowledge and experience from the energy industry and internationalbusiness. Rynning-Tønnesenhas previously held senior positions in Statkraft's top managementfor 11 years, and before that he worked for McKinsey and Esso Norge.Rynning-Tønnesen earned his degree as a chartered engineer at theNorwegian University of Science and Technology.Statkraft is Europe's largest renewable energy company.
