Vaisala Oyj : Vaisala Consolidates R&D Activities

Vaisala Corporation Stock Exchange Release November 7, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.
To support business needs and to improve efficiency and the utilization of
resources, Vaisala is simplifying its global Research and Development footprint.
The R&D activities will be centralized in Helsinki, Finland and Boulder,
Colorado, USA.
Of the current locations, the European R&D activities in Paris, France and
Hamburg, Germany and the US R&D activities in Tucson, Arizona; St Louis,
Missouri; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Columbus, Ohio are planned to be
discontinued. In addition to Helsinki and Boulder, R&D activities will continue
in four other current locations.
Going forward, the company will also increase its development and competence
focus on system and software development.
The planned consolidation will affect approximately 27 people, of which 20 in
the US. All affected employees will be offered a possibility to relocate to
Helsinki or Boulder.
