Metso reduces and temporarily lays off personnel in Pori, Finland
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Metso Corporation's press release on November 17, 2009 at 10:40 a.m.local timeMetso has concluded the employee negotiations regarding their unit inPori, Finland on November 16, 2009. As a result of the negotiationprocess initiated on September 30, 2009 a total of 80 persons inregular employment will be reduced, almost half of whom will becovered with pension arrangements. 32 persons will be affected by anactual lay-off. The reductions will commence immediately, accordingto legal terms of notice.Temporary lay-offs may affect all personnel during 2010. The membersof staff to be temporarily laid off, and the duration and timing ofthese lay-offs will depend on the workload. The temporary lay-offnotice applied to all the employees in the Pori unit, in total about230 people, and the reduction notice to about 95 people.The employee negotiations initiated simultaneously in other Fiberbusiness line units in Finland and Sweden still continue.
