Nutreco receives approval for the acquisition of the animal nutrition
business from Cargill in Spain

(Thomson Reuters ONE) - The European Commission anti-trust authorities in Brussels havegranted Nutreco approval for the acquisition of the animal nutritionbusiness of Cargill in Spain and Portugal. The agreement in principlewas announced on 28 July 2009. The acquisition includes Cargill's 12compound feed production facilities, with a production volume ofaround 700,000 metric tonnes, annual sales of approximately EUR 240million.The acquisition fits in Nutreco's strategy to expand its globalmarket positions in feed specialties and fish feed in growth marketsand to strengthen its leading compound feed market positions inCanada, the Netherlands and Spain.
