Summer Infant, Inc. New COO Takes Office
(firmenpresse) - WOONSOCKET, RI -- (Marketwire) -- 11/22/11 -- As previously announced, Summer Infant, Inc. ("Summer Infant" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: SUMR), a global leader in premium juvenile products, hired David S. Hemendinger to become Chief Operating Officer. On November 21, 2011, he began his employment at the Company. "We are excited to have David's skills and depth on board at Summer Infant," said Jason Macari, Chief Executive Officer of the Company. "His broad experience and leadership capabilities in operations will greatly strengthen our senior management team." As an inducement to Mr. Hemendinger joining the Company, the Compensation Committee of the Company's Board of Directors approved an option to acquire up to 40,000 shares of the company's common stock, vesting 25% each year beginning one year after the date of grant (November 21, 2011), and an award of 20,000 shares of restricted stock, also vesting 25% each year beginning one year after the date of grant. These awards are in lieu of the awards previously disclosed, and are being granted outside of the Company's existing incentive compensation plan.
