New distribution centre successfully commissioned
Düsseldorf, November 29, 2011 - getgoods.de AG, a leading operator of
online platforms for IT and telecommunication products, has experienced a
further rapid growth in the third quarter. Revenues compared to the
previous year increased by 59.6 % to EUR 87.2m. The accumulated revenues
for the first nine months amounted to EUR 212.0m and were 102.9 % up on the
preceding year's figure (9M/2010: EUR 104.5m). Herein revenues of the
acquired Home of Hardware GmbH (HOH) are included as of August 1, 2011.
The operating result has also grown significantly. In spite of the expenses
incurred through the integration of the acquired IT-hardware specialist
HOH, the company has still increased its EBIT by 49.7% year-on-year to EUR
2.8m (Q3/2010: EUR 1.9m). On a nine months basis the EBIT was up to EUR
5.8m which equals a 90.9 % increase in a year-on-year comparison (9M/2010:
EUR 3.0m). This represents an EBIT margin of 2.7 % (9M/2010: 2.9 %).
In order to continue this strong growth also in the future, the company has
increased its storage and logistics capacities significantly by opening up
a new distribution center in Frankfurt / Oder. This new state-of-the-art
distribution center with a floor area of approximately 3,000sqm facilitates
the shipment of an additional 25,000 parcels per day on the basis of a
normal two-shift operation. Assuming a constant product mix this equals a
yearly revenue potential of approximately EUR 700,0m.
Markus Rockstädt-Mies, CEO and member of the board of getgoods.de AG is
pleased about the improved efficiency of the logistics: 'With the new
distribution center we are well-prepared for the upcoming Christmas season.
Also our team is now in good shape to cope successfully with the increasing
customer demand at the end of the year and further beyond.'
The management of getgoods.de AG has also confirmed its revenue guidance of
more than EUR 300,0m for the full fiscal year 2011.
