Harmony Appoints Grant Hall as New President and Chief Executive Officer
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/04/12 -- Harmony Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE: H)(the "Company" or "Harmony") announces that effective January 1, 2012, Grant Hall has been appointed as the Company's new President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Craig Englesman has tendered his resignation as President and Chief Executive Officer, however he will continue in his capacity as a director of the Company. The Company would like to thank Mr. Englesman for his years of service as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Grant Hall has vast experience in the mining, mining services, commodities and financial industries. He held successively senior positions of leadership and authority in the brokerage business with two prominent firms. He has provided funding for several mining ventures over his career including, Sola Resources and Prize Mining. He was President of the former Western Warrior Resources (now Whetstone Minerals). He was an integral part of the initial management change at Oremex Resources in 2009 and helped fund the enterprise as well as added value in the area of corporate development and investor relations. Mr. Hall owned a successful diamond drill business in Colombia South America. Mr. Hall's financial background has provided him the ability to raise significant amounts of capital for public and private companies in the resource sector.
Mr. Hall stated: "I am very pleased to join Harmony and take a leadership role with the Company. We have several initiatives underway in Zambia and the Northwest Territories. I look forward to bringing these projects to fruition."
