(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/01/13 -- The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, issued the following statement after Canada Border Services Agency announced the arrest of Clive Moore in Hamilton on July 24th, 2013, by the Toronto Immigration Task Force (ITF). Moore, who is inadmissible to Canada, has committed offences outside of Canada that, if committed in Canada, would constitute Canadian offences. He has convictions in the United States for trafficking narcotics, burglary, trespass, and larceny.

"Our government has no tolerance for those who hide in this country illegally and abuse our generous immigration system. I would like to commend the Toronto Immigration Task Force for their continued efforts to apprehend those who threaten the safety and security of our communities. We are ensuring law enforcement has the tools they need to keep our communities and streets safe."

The Toronto ITF is composed of CBSA and Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers.

To date, as a result of the "Wanted by the CBSA" program, 44 individuals have been apprehended in Canada, of which 36 have been removed. Additionally, nine individuals were located abroad.
