Berliner Synchron AG to publish preliminary figures for the first
half-year of 2013; Operational business to generate surplus again for
the first time

Berlin, 9th August, 2013. Berliner Synchron AG is releasing preliminary
figures for the first half-year of 2013. It is reported that the company's
performance in the first six months of the year has amounted to 3,924 EUR
(PY 3,875), therefore improving its performance compared to the same period
of the preceding year. It is expected that the results from ordinary
operations will improve by 192 TEUR from -178 TEUR to 15 TEUR. This surplus
is a result of consistent process improvements and savings which have been
implemented since April 2013.
Due to various extraordinary effects amounting to -73 TEUR, the preliminary
results add up to -58 TEUR after tax (PY 540 TEUR due to positive
extraordinary effects of 712 TEUR).
Contracted services have seen a positive development during the first
half-year of 2013. Whilst 50% of the result of 3,684 TEUR - adjusted for
special fees - was spent on dubbing actors, directors and authors as well
as technical personnel in the previous year, this rate decreased to 49%
during the first half-year of 2013.
The new members of the Executive Board are satisfied with the financial
developments during the first half of 2013, however, room for improvement
continues to exist. Altogether the Executive Board is convinced that the
company is on good track to achieve a sustainable turnaround in 2014.
