Residential & Commercial Properties to Sell at Auction in Birmingham, Atlanta, Spartanburg and Orlando
(firmenpresse) - MARIETTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/01/11 -- Dozens of foreclosed residential and commercial properties in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida will sell in a series of auctions to be held around the Southeast Aug. 23-25. s will manage the auctions.
The auctions will be held in Birmingham, Ala. (Aug. 23), Atlanta (Aug. 24), Spartanburg, S.C. (Aug. 25), and Orlando (Aug. 25). All but four of the properties to be offered during the three-day series will sell at absolute auction, with no minimum or reserve bids.
"The unfortunate real estate downturn resulted in the foreclosures of a lot of real estate, and the bank is conducting auctions in Birmingham, Spartanburg, Atlanta and Orlando to get these properties off the books and into the hands of people and companies that can use them for homes, retail locations, restaurants and other productive purposes," said John Dixon, president of the auction company.
The company, which specializes in the sales of properties owned by financial institutions, has had a busy 2011, selling 145 homes, 2,300 home sites and other types of real estate. "We've sold a lot of property, but it's been a long, gut-wrenching downturn, so the job is far from finished," said Dixon.
The Birmingham auction will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at the Embassy Suites on John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover. It will include subdivision residential lots, commercial land, condominiums, and an oil change location.
The next day, the company will sell a similar portfolio of foreclosed real estate in Georgia, with the auction set for 2 p.m. at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 2333 Circle 75, Atlanta.
Thursday, the John Dixon team will conduct two auctions -- one at 11 a.m. in Spartanburg, S.C., and the other in the Embassy Suites Orlando Downtown at 7 p.m.
"We're not going to get a lot of rest that week, but we'll provide a lot of opportunities for people who are now thinking past the economic troubles of the past few years and seeking to acquire properties for future use," said Dixon.
