Located near Lucerne the 9.2 km long Seelisbergtunnel is the longest twin tube motorway tunnel in Switzerland. Theobjective of the rehabilitation is to guarantee continuous operationof the tunnel for another 15 to 20 years without major interruptions.Pöyry's share of the assignment amounts to nearly EUR 5 million andincludes an option for site supervision during the execution phase.Pöyry is the leader of a consortium with two other partners. Thedesign phase will last from 2009 until 2014, and covers theconceptual design, detailed design, approvals procedures, preparationof tender documents and evaluation of bids, and preparation ofcontract documents.
