Pöyry awarded engineering contract for FNsteel

Pöyry's Industry business group has been awarded an engineering contract for
blast furnace repair project by FNsteel Oy Ab in Koverhar, Finland. The value of
the contract is about EUR 1 million. The order value has been booked into the
second quarter 2011 order stock.
Pöyry's assignment includes detail engineering and project services including
procurement management and safety services for modernization of blast furnace,
charging system and related peripheral equipment. Focus of the Koverhar Blast
Furnace repair project is to increase the pressure and the blast temperature,
which in turn cut the mill's energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
FNsteel manufactures and processes steel products. Its products include wire
rods and wire strands. FNsteel Oy Ab operates as a subsidiary of Hombergh
Holdings B.V.
This project is a natural continuation of the long-term cooperation between
FNsteel (former Ovako Wire) and Pöyry. This assignment strengthens Pöyry's
position as provider of engineering and project services to the minerals and
metals processing industries.
