Pöyry manages the Urgent Water Supply and Sanitation Rehabilitation Programme in Zimbabwe

Pöyry's Water & Environment business group has been awarded a contract for the
management and implementation of the water and sanitation component of the
multi-donor trust fund in Zimbabwe. The fund mobilizes donor resources, promotes
donor coordination and channels financial assistance. Due to the urgency of the
project and the special circumstances in Zimbabwe, Pöyry has been entrusted to
implement the donor fund on behalf of the Government of Zimbabwe. The value of
the assignment is EUR 1.6 million and the order value has been booked into the
fourth quarter 2011 order stock.
The general purpose of the assignment is to manage major rehabilitation works
that lead to restoration and stabilization of water supply and sanitation
services in six large municipalities serving an estimated population of 4.15
million. The local client is the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of
Zimbabwe.
The services provided by Pöyry's experts will cover management of the repairs
and rehabilitation of critical water supply, wastewater installations and
network system as well as the development, coordination and management of non-
technical assignments. The contracted services are for a period of 18 months.
