Pöyry awarded EUR 3.0 million urban development project in Burkina

(Thomson Reuters ONE) - PÿYRY PLC Press release 27 November 2009 at 2.00 p.m.The Millennium Challenge Account, Burkina Faso has awarded Pöyry thedesign contract for implementation of 17 communal buildings in townsthroughout the country as well as improvements to marketinfrastructure for nine market sites in south-western andnorth-western Burkina Faso. The value of the contract is about EUR3.0 million and includes options for additionally 30 communalbuilding sites as well as construction supervision works for allconstruction sites.Pöyry will complete the study and design phase by September 2011. Thedesign services will begin with socioeconomic planning studies forthe market sites. Feasibility studies will be carried out as well asenvironmental impact assessments and resettlement action plansfollowing relevant national legislation and international guidelinesfor all sites.
